The Word of God

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is without error in the original writings. The Bible is a complete revelation of God’s will for the salvation of men and is the final authority for all Christian faith and life.

God

We believe the Bible testifies that there is only one God and that He eternally exists in Three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Father

We believe that God the Father is an infinite personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. The Father created all things. He created the universe in love to respond to Him. He created man in His own image for fellowship and called man back to Himself through Christ after the rebellion and fall of man. We believe that He actively and mercifully intervenes in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and spiritual death anyone who comes to Him through Jesus Christ.

The Son

We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was together with the Father and the Holy Spirit from the beginning. Through Him all things were made. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. He rose bodily from the dead. He ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Advocate. His sacrifice provides the believer a complete redemption from sin, sickness, and disease.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God and equal with the Father and the Son. The primary ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit convicts unbelievers of their need for Christ. He gives new birth to believing sinners. He indwells, sanctifies, leads, teaches, and empowers believers for godly living and service. The baptism in the Holy Spirit, subsequent to conversion, releases the fullness of the Spirit. We believe that all the gifts of the Spirit continue to be distributed by the Spirit today. These gifts are divine provisions central to spiritual growth and effective ministry. They are to be eagerly desired, faithfully developed, and lovingly and biblically exercised.

Man

We believe God created man in the image of God. Man is a spirit. He has a soul. And he lives in a body. We believe that fallen man is a sinner by nature and action and is therefore spiritually dead and separated from God. Those who repent of sin and trust Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are spiritually born again to new life by the Holy Spirit.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is a free gift of God and is received by man through faith in Jesus Christ apart from any human merit, works, or ritual. The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for forgiveness of sins for all who believe and that only those who receive Jesus Christ are born of the Spirit, become children of God, and are given eternal life.

The Church

We believe in a universal church that is composed of all people who through saving faith in Jesus Christ are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the head.

Baptism

We believe the Bible outlines two ordinances for the church. The first, baptism, is the outward sign of what God has already done in the individual's life, and is a testimony to all that the person now belongs to Jesus. Believers' baptism is a testimony of the death to sin and resurrection to a new life in Christ. It is identification with Jesus and is done in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The Lord's Supper

We believe the second ordinance for the church is the Lord’s Supper. The Lord's Supper is a commemoration of the death of the Lord and is done in remembrance of Him until He comes again. The Lord's Supper sets forth in sacred and symbolic manner the death of the Lord Jesus Christ and our salvation through faith in Him. All true believers are welcome at Harvest Church to participate in the Lord’s Supper.

Christ's Return

We believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Resurrection

We believe in the bodily resurrection from the dead: of the believer to everlasting joy and life with the Lord; of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
